Dotty Fish Baby Shoes - Help with getting the right size for your child

We know that getting the right size is important and although our sizes are in months and years babies don't come in one size fits all. To help we have created a printable size guide that your child can stand on which will tell you exactly which size shoes to choose.

Simply follow these 4 steps to get the most accurate size.

  1. Print out the PDF size guide which can be found under our product description as 'Product Guides and Documents'
  2. Stand your child barefoot on the chart. Your child's heel must be on the dotted line at the bottom of the chart. If your little one isn't standing yet simply put the printed sheet on a hard book and place your child's heel on the dotted line.
  3. Measure both feet, it is normal to have one foot slightly larger than the other. You will need to measure to the top of the big toe and use the largest size foot measurement.
  4. Choose the size you are shown on our guide for the most accurate fit. You don't need to account for room for growth. shoes have 1cm wiggle room built in.

Now comes the hard part... deciding which of our adorable designs to choose! In the words of our Founder and CEO Helen "You can never have too many shoes!"

Getting the Right Size

The best way to get the right fit is to measure your child’s feet. Our step by step guide shows you how to do this. We also have a short video in our storefront that shows you the easy steps to follow.

  1. Place a piece of paper on a hard floor surface and tape it down so it doesn’t move.
  2. Ask your child to stand on the paper or gently place their foot on the paper.
  3. Mark off the back of the heel and the tip of the longest toe using your pencil. Make sure your child’s foot hasn’t moved between markings.
  4. Repeat this for both feet.
  5. Measure the distance between the two marks. Make a note of this and then use the biggest foot measurement as the one you use when choosing which size to buy.
  6. On our size guide within the product images you will find your measurement in cm, use this to order the correct size for your child.

Care of your Shoes

shoes are made from leather and as such should never be put in the washing machine.

  • Spot clean with a damp sponge.
  • Use a mild detergent if needed.
  • A suede brush can be used on the soles.
